Pocklington 11 May
A great turnout with 36 club members starting the event, a club record and the second best represented club. A cooler evening than normal at Pocklington and helping to bring 10 PBs. Richard Oates and Becky Earl shaved a little of their times with Howard, Jonathon, Jane and Alice taking over two minuites off,  Emily over 3, Gayner over 4 and Daniel mearly 6 minutes off his previous best. Well done to them all.
The Open team of Mark, Nigel, Chris, Kevin, James and Mark took a very good 3rd place with Becky, Emily, Harriet and Anne matching them in the Ladies section, an excellent result as Tash, Caroline and Sally we all unavailable.

Easingwold 25 May
After several days of very hot weather the evening for round 2 had cooled to a reasonably level. Another great turnout of 37 in a field of 229. Many good times close to PBs from the previous round and another 7 claimed. Tim broke the magic 40 minutes barrier for the first time with Howard, Emily, Daniel and Alice all trimming further seconds off and Debbie Pomfret running her 1st 10 K since September taking nearly 4 minites off her time.
The Open team of Mark, Chris, Nigel, Tim, Mark and James maintained their 3rd place overall with another 3rd on the night, just 2 points short of 2nd. Not to be outdone the Ladies matched them with Emily, Sally, Becky and Alice making up the team.
Bishop Wilton 8 June
Congratulation to all Easingwold runners who undertook the long journey to Bishop Wilton. Not only did you have to contend with the mountainous climb and the knee jarring descent but also some appalling weather – well done to you all! The shortage of marshals led to a temporary loss of officials at the last junction and to several runners missing the turning.
A total of 26 club members made the trip and many enjoyed a social gathering at a local hostelry after. The Open team came 4th on the night but still maintain 3rd overall. The Ladies had a tough time finishing 7th but they also retain 3rd overall following good results on the first two races.  Let’s hope for better conditions at Knavesmire.
In the individual sections, Easingwold still dominate the M40 category with Nigel 1st, Mark 2nd, Chris 4th and Kevin 5th.

Knavesmire 22 June
It couldn't have been more different when runners gathered at the Knavesmire for round 4 for the Road Race League. A hot sunny evening and a flat course over three and a bit laps of the tarmac roads of the racecourse's infield.  Well done to the 27 who completed the course, the heat was a bit much for PBs and many found it a little boring compared to the undulating country courses. The Open team continued their good performance with another 3rd place, retaining their position overall. The Ladies did well to take 5th and surprisingly still hang on to 3rd overall. A good performance will be required at Selby to maintain that position.

Wiston, Selby 6 July

The traditional closing event at Wistow is a winding but flat country course. The weather was warm but still throwing up the chance of some PBs. Another good turnout of 30 ensured the teams again did well with some excellent individual performances. Of particular note was the legend that is Cliff Simm who went under 60 minutes at the age of 80, an amazing performance. Also dipping under significant barriers for the first time was Sara Ellis with a sub hour time of 59.20 and Angela Wilson breaking the 50 minute mark with a time of 49.48. Tim Brown joined the sub 40 crowd for the first time this year on 39.31. PBs were also set by Kevin Lally, Tim Williams, Richard Oates, Luke Shannon, Caroline Hutchinson, Emily Thornton, Becky Earl, Daniel Gath, Cameron Turner, Jane Maloney, and Mike Williams.

Well done to everybody that was able to compete in this year's Road Race League. It was a real team effort with an average of 31 for the five event series. The Open Team (first 6 from the club) put in a very consistence performance taking four third places and one forth claiming a comfortable third overall. It helps if you can manage six runners under 40 minutes!

The Ladies Team (first four) had a monumental battle. Having taken third place on rounds 1 and 2, a 7th at Bishop Wilton and 5th at Knavesmire put their final position in doubt. They rose to the challenge with a great performance at Selby finishing 3rd and also claiming third overall. Our large turnout meant that we have four Open Teams and two Ladies in the final results.

Well done also to Nigel, Mark and Kevin, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the M40 category. Ken managed two 3rd places but it was only good enough for 4th overall in the M60 category.
