The races for the 2009 Road Race League are as follows:
The Handicap race starts at 7.00 pm with supper and awards ceremony to follow. Members must wear club colours when competing. Your race number will be used for all races so don't throw it away after the first event! Club members can meet in the Market Square to share transport for most events and many members meet in a hostelry after the race where food will be available for a small sum. Details of transport and post race venues will be circulated closer to the events. Cost is just £7 for the six race series including the supper and presentation after the handicap race. To register, please see Richard Wells on club nights. ReportsStillington Handicap
Selby 7 July
Knavesmire 23 Juneseemingly ad hoc start and finish which resulted in a distance of 10.2 KM. An absense of K markers was also dissapoining. The hot weather didn't help forcing a few retirements.23 club members took up the challenge with both the Open and Ladies team taking excellent third places.
Easingwold 9 June
Tadcaster 26 May
Pocklington 12 May![]() A great turnout with 28 club members starting the event. A field of near 250 was around 50 more than normal and competion was very keen with the big clubs fielding strong teams. The open team holds 4th place behind Knavesmire, Acorn and Pocklington. The Ladies team had a great start being placed 2nd behind Knavesmire with Acorn and Pocklington close behind. Well done to all, especially Natasha, 2nd lady in 40.00. Full results see top left. |
