Tholthorpe 10 K - 7 September 2008

After 22 weeks of hard work for the beginners group, the day finally arrrived - the Tholthorpe 10 K.

Heavy rain in the days leading up to the event meant it was doubtful at one stage whether it would still go ahead as roads along the route were flooded.

However. as is renowned with Tholthorpe, the weather improved as the day went on and needless to say, it got really rather warm. The roads however were still flooded in places and no one escaped with dry feet as at one point competitors were forced to take to the grass and run through several inches of water  as it was better than staying on the road! The finish on the village green also had to abandoned due to the soggy conditions and a finish on the road was substituted instead.

The happy team of Caralyn, Sarah, Liz, Kate, Catherine,
Trish, David, Debbie, Lynn, and Jane trying not to look nervious!
Sara was lost somewhere at time.

The group of 11 along with 20 other ERC competititors posed for various group photos and chatted nerviously before making their way to the start. With encouragement from all the club, the group also enjoyed the benifits of Carol, Chris and Roger who ran round with varous members of the group. They all succesfully complete the course, well done to them all.
